Every time I hear GaGa’s “Edge of Glory” and the saxophone plays I think of Kenny G on top of Katy Perry’s roof. Then I feel sad.
…What the fuck is wrong with me.
I have three projects on the go at the moment. The first being I sat down the other night and took a little look at my finances…shudder.
I hadn’t realized how much money I spend on takeaway food and coffees. I was quite shocked. Living alone with my impractical work hours means that quite often I eat lunch and dinner at or near work and lately (since moving house) I have very rarely been bringing food with me. Part of the reason has been that I didn’t have a fridge but it really all adds up and that is money that quite simply i could be making costumes with or fixing up my place with. So I’ve set myself a no take out challenge over the next week. And being Tuesday here’s how I’ve gone so far.
Monday Breakfast: Rice cake with peanut butter. I allowed myself one coffee from the cart at work as I wasn’t very prepared for the challenge and could barely keep my eyes open. Lunch: When I got home it was late afternoon. I would usually get some sushi after work on the way past the train station but today I simply walked past and went to spotlight to get some fabric instead. Once home I had some rice cakes with tofutti cream cheese and avocado. Afternoon Tea: A big pot of tea while I worked on this weeks second project and some gf vegan ginger cookies. Dinner: Baked vegetables with GF pasta, leftovers from last night. I ate way to much! I am also going to start using a budget app on my phone to track where my spending goes.
The second project is that I now have another tumblr! This one is just for my burlesque work and if all goes well I might start using it as a platform and set up a proper sight this way. It allows me to be able connect via my phone and upload straight to my artists profile on facebook.
The third is that I’m performing in a festival in two weeks. And am creating a new work! Which is actually quite stressful!
